Vrolike Groepe – The year is done and we moving on
Today, Thursday 29th November the Pre grade R class – “Vrolike Groepe” at Edward Primary school showed off their talents as the children dramatized one of their stories- The moral of the story was that you do not always have to be the strongest – if you smart, you can still overcome a challenge – Story of the Billy Goat.
The children did 3 items that they practiced with their teacher, Natasha Haynie. This made us proud as they strut their bodies to the movement and song. The parents were so excited to see their children performing on stage.
The year went by so quickly and even though these children live in an area plagued with violence and gangsterism, they shone brightly today sharing a message of goodwill with the parents and the community – Heal the World.
This song reminisces strong emotions because we need to protect our children from violence and the threat of abuse within our communities. Allow our children to be children and allow them to play freely and safely in the parks and in their own back yards as they live in fear of gunshots daily. Protect their innocence.
