Vrolike Groepe – Pre Grade R class
The class in run by Natasha Haynie on the premises of Edward school serving the community of Elsies river. The service is rendered to households that are single parents or lives with grand parents and especially focusses on low income households.
For the latter part of this year the group had their last outing to Giraffe House, was involved with the Libby bee reading initiative through the library and had their Christmas lunch party box from Mcdonalds. We wish them well as they enter their first year of Primary school.
Special thanks to Ms Haynie for a wonderful job done and for rearing our little ones, with a strong foundation.
FACING LAST FEW DAYS OF SCHOOL
The last two months, we admitted over 8 boys, some of them are already enrolled at schools but others we had to find schools for them. Thanks to the support of the Afrikaans medium schools in Elsies river – Edward and Kalksteenfontein primary who could accommodate our children who had school transfers. We knew it was a great challenge admitting children in the last quarter of the school year, but the boys settled in very nicely.
Congratulations to Cecelia Benjamin
One of our staff graduated first in her class, not only did she achieve her goal but she received the “Student of the year” Award.
We wish to thank you for your commitment in helping us to make a difference in the lives of these boys. Thank you for donating your services, donations and prayers. We are extremely thankful to have you as part of our Circle of friends.
Achievements of Individual boys
Mogammat Michaels was awarded for his participation in Youth Invasion programme – “Best and most creative vision” Certificate.
He also received an award from Zip Zap for his participation in the Hood programme and is promoted to the Simunye programme in 2024.
Prom event and final year exit
RW or as he is referred to by some of his friends, Mr Bones – completed his final year at Molenbeeck School of Skills. He will be exiting our programme soon but had his final “hooraah” at his school prom looking spiffy.
Special thanks to the staff at Molenbeeck for their patience – we wish him well. To the sponsor, Mr Suit hire who sponsored his suit for the day, we wish to thank you for always assisting us in making our boys feel special on their prom nights.
