Celebrating Child and Youth Care workers
We celebrated Child and Youth Care workers during the week of 1-7 May 2023. When we celebrate it, we need to understand our roles as professional Child and Youth Care workers. Do we make this profession proud with the things we do and say. We are not nannies nor are we prison wardens – although it sometimes fells that way ……. We are role models – We need to be the type of person the child aspire to be. Show the children the respect they deserve and advise them how to earn your respect and how to show respect. Lead by example and create a loving, caring environment.
